Turbo
Lister Installation Instructions (by
Six..Pack with help from Purpleangel)
Powered by I2TLF |
| Step
1 - Downloading
Turbo Lister |
| Download
the UK
Turbo Lister from eBay.
Use this link: http://download.ebay.com/turbo_lister2/setupUK.exe
or the USA Turbo
Lister from here http://download.ebay.com/turbo_lister2/setupUS.exe
Note: If your country is not USA or UK please
replace
the letters US/UK
in the link with
your country
letters. |
| After
clicking the download link a "File Download" window comes up.
Here you will see a warning how dangerous Turbo Lister can be.
And I tell you the truth: It is!!
Click Save |
| After
clicking the "Save As" window comes up.
Here you can choose the location to save the setupUK.exe. You shouldn't
save this file in an existing Turbo Lister folder.
Click Save. |
| Now
the download begins.
Depending on the transfer rate of your internet connection you will see
this window a while.....
....with DSL 2 or 3 minutes, with ISDN or
Modem it will be longer...... |
| When
the
download is finished, you should have
a file named setupUK.exe on your hard disk.
If you are installing Turbo Lister for the first time continue with Step
4. |
| Step
2 - Backup
Database.... |
|
In
order to save your listings go to the
file menu and
use the "Backup Database..." function. Turbo Lister will create a
database backup in a folder named Turbo
Lister Backup.
Later you can copy back your listings with the function "Restore
Database...". This only works, when your user database is in good
order. Do it for each user.
If your database is damaged you have to use the following method:
Open the Turbo Lister folder on your computer
(the default location is
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\eBay\... on Vista:
C:\ProgramData\eBay\...)
and open the Data folder.
Here you will find your database, called User000.tdb.
If there are more users registered in your Turbo Lister you will find
more databases with different numbers. User001.tdb
User002.tdb etc.
If there are subfolders in Data folder
named like your user databases, this means your pictures are stored
externally. In this case you also have to backup these folders.
Copy these files to another location outside of the Turbo Lister
folders. These files are very important; herein are all your listings.
If there are more users you have to verify which database belongs
to
which user. Later when you restore the databases you have to know which
is which, so note down to which username each database (000, 001 etc)
belongs. |
| Step
3 - Uninstalling
Turbo Lister |
| Go
to Start
>> Control Panel >> Software click
Turbo Lister2 to remove. The
InstallShield Wizard starts and will remove Turbo Lister.
Click Next
and begin the procedure.
|
| You
have to answer two security requests............
Click OK.
|
| Now
you have the option to keep your data or delete completely.
Deleting is necessary when the App.tdb database is corrupted.
If you saved your data suggested in Step 2 you can click YES.

|
| Now
the InstallShield Wizard begins to remove the Turbo Lister.
The progress will be shown.
|
| Click Finish.
Now Turbo Lister is uninstalled and the InstallShield Wizard is ready.
Convince yourself that the Turbo Lister folder does not exist
(by deleting the whole folder)
or in case of you saving your Data ensure it
contains your data in the Data folder only.
|
| Step
4 - New
installation of Turbo Lister |
| In
order to work properly with Turbo Lister you have to be Administrator
on your computer. To
make sure to get a good installation you have to shut down your virus
program during installation.
Go to the download folder on your hard drive and doubleclick the setupUK.exe.
Optional
go to Start
>> Execute >> Search >>Open and
after selecting
setupUK.exe click
OK.
Depending on the configuration of your Windows Explorer the extension .exe
may not be shown. |
|
The setupUK.exe
starts up.
The installation gets prepared...
|
| The
installation is prepared.
The InstallShield Wizard is ready to install your Turbo Lister.
Click Next.
|
| Needless
to say that you have to accept the License Agreements.
If you do not, the installation will terminate.
|
| Should
your User Name not come up by itself here, insert it manually.
Normally it is not your ebay User Name, but the name you
have registered on your computer.
It is not particularly important.
Important is that both
fields are
filled with something.
|
| With
the button Change... you can choose the location
you
want Turbo Lister installed to.
The best option is to accept the default location.
|
| When all settings are done,
click Install.
|
| The
progress of installation will be shown.
|
| Now
click Finish
without launching Turbo Lister.
Setup finishes.
Very
important: Wait a
minute so InstallShield Wizard has time to terminate all activities.

|
| Step
5 - First
setup of Turbo Lister |
| Now
run Turbo Lister by clicking the Turbo Lister Icon. |
| Turbo Lister
starts and creates all the settings for first use.
This procedure can take some time, because a database of app. 60 MB has
to be created.
Note: The popup has to close by itself.
|
| When
ready Turbo Lister comes up with a welcome screen.
Don't click the "Open a sample Turbo Lister file" button.
Set up your personal database.
If there is already a user installed the "For current Turbo Lister
users, open an existing file" is also active.
|
| Now
you must insert your ebay User ID.
Observe the correct notation !!!
The Turbo Lister servers work with international standards.
Special characters are not allowed in the User ID.
It is also case sensitive.
If so, you should go to your ebay account to change it. If you sell
on different ebay sites install them later.
|
| Now
it is time to connect to internet. This will be done manually or
automatically depending on your connection.

|
Now you
will get a note about new security enhancements.
 |
Here you have to insert
your ebay password.
 |
You have to
agree the Turbo Lister authorisation to work with it.
 |
| Here
you don't have to insert anything.
If the internet access was successful, all fields will be filled with
your data out of the ebay database.
Click Next.
|
| Turbo
Lister will come up with a "Getting Started" window. Here you can do
different operations.
If you are already an ebay seller you can synchronise your data
with ebay.
It you are new on ebay just click Finish.
|
| Now you will get a Create New Item
window.
This is not necessary at this point because you have to change some
important settings. Click Cancel and close Turbo
Lister.
|
| Now
restart your virus programm ! Run Turbo Lister by
clicking on Turbo Lister Icon. Now Turbo Lister will
open with an empty database.
It is possible to close popups and help text.
|
| Before
you start with your work, you should make some important
settings. To do this, click on Tools>Options. To
save disk space you are allowed to delete all files in the folder Images.
Only the subfolder 003 (in USA 000
and 100m)
has to be held. If you delete it Turbo Lister
want to update each time.
I would recommend never to use the
Beta version. When
ready click on Apply and change to Turbo Lister
Options. |
|
And
more....
Now
click OK
and close the window.
|
| After
saving your settings you have to update Turbo Lister. In
the Tool Bar click Tools and Check
for Program Updates.
Turbo Lister now is searching for program updates.

|
| Within
a
minute or so, you will be shown if
there are any updates.
Click Install Now.
Turbo Lister will download the found updates.
You also have the option to cancel, but that makes no sense, because
you need the data.
|
| Turbo Lister shows the
size of the update and starts the download.
The size of the update is the sum of all possible updates.
Depending on the relevance to the current situation of your Turbo
Lister it will download much less.
Should the download not start or the transfer rate goes to 0 KB/sec
and this doesn't change within 3 to 5 minutes cancel it and try again.
Turbo Lister lost some responding links.
|
| Turbo
Lister stores all necessary data to Update folder
and from that location the data will transferred to Turbo
Lister folder
and updates the databases.
Afterwards the content of the folder will be deleted.
When download breaks you will find already downloaded files in that
folder.
If the files have the same names like existing files in Turbo Lister
folder, you easily can replace the files and delete the Update folder.

|
| Now
Turbo Lister reports the completion of the update.
Click Close
to close the information window and close the
internet connection.
|
| When
ready it is advisable to compact the database.
Go to Tools menu and select the option.
This procedure should be done after an update and after work.
|
| In
the Data folder you will find the following files: The App.tdb
is the main
database of Turbo Lister.
The user000.tdb contains your listings.
The user000 folder (if it exists) is the external folder with
your
pictures when they are not stored in the database.
The other two files are your Listings Activity. (Screenshot
from unknown-shopper)
|
| If
you saved your database as suggested at beginning of these
instructions, you can restore it to the Data folder.
Did you save it with "Database backup" so it works easily with
"Database restore".
Did you copy the files to another place you have to copy it back.
The existing user000.tdb will be replaced.
The Turbo Lister must be closed during this procedure. It
is certainly useful to save the empty user000.tdb before. In case your
old user000.tdb should be damaged, you can get back this empty
user000.tdb without installing the Turbo Lister a second time. If
there is more
then one user, you have to register all the others in the sequence you
checked out before, in order to get a database for each user
and copy back the correct data responding to that user.
In the status line right hand you ever will see your ebay user name.
